Pep Guardiola has come to the aid of his struggling striker Erling Haaland, promising to help him regain his scoring form.
The Norwegian forward has managed to score just three times in his last 12 appearances in the Premier League.
In the meantime, Manchester City has achieved just one victory in their last 12 contests.
Nonetheless, the Spanish manager, aged 53, is not blaming his star striker for this predicament.
Guardiola emphasizes that his squad must elevate their overall performance following a dismal period.
“It’s about the entire team, not just one individual,” Guardiola remarked.
“Previously, we scored freely, and Erling was exceptionally productive, thanks in large part to the team’s support.
“When there are problems defensively or in the midfield, it affects the whole team. This is a collective issue, not merely the responsibility of one player. To blame a single player would be overly simplistic, and that’s not the reality.
“Erling is vital for us, has played a key role, and will continue to do so. We need to find more effective ways to utilize him.”
Haaland has an impressive tally of 108 goals in 122 matches since joining the Cityzens in 2022.
After not scoring in a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa, the striker was quick to shoulder the blame.
Pep Guardiola claims ‘I’m the manager and I’m not good enough’ as Man City endures another defeat
“It impacts all of us, of course,” the prolific scorer admitted.
“It weighs on me. I haven’t been up to the mark, and I haven’t delivered for City this season.
“I need to elevate my level and put in more effort; I must get better. It’s simply insufficient. I will do everything possible to enhance my game.

“We can’t seem to clinch victories anymore; we’ve lost control of matches, unlike before. We used to have much greater command over games.
“In crucial situations, I’m failing to convert chances, and we’re conceding goals at pivotal moments. The margins are thin, and that’s the reality. I will do whatever is necessary to change this.”
Manchester City will face Everton on Boxing Day with a midday kickoff.
