The winger has been excluded from Manchester United’s last three matchday squads.
Rashford has indicated that he is ready for a “new challenge” and is believed to be available for around £40 million.
However, Foster, 41, thinks that the Red Devils may struggle to secure such a fee.
On his Cycling GK podcast, he stated: “Marcus Rashford is frequently a topic of discussion, with many claiming, ‘on his day, on his day.’
“But that day is rare; it occurs once every ten matches. Honestly, it’s just not practical to have a luxury player like that in today’s football landscape.
“Furthermore, the added pressure and expectations surrounding him suggest that Mikel Arteta would likely not want him at Arsenal.
“He ought to leave Manchester United. I predict it could end up being a move to the MLS or something akin to that. A substantial pay cut will be necessary.”
Currently, Rashford earns around £325,000 a week and has a contract with United valid until the summer of 2028.

This season, he has made 15 appearances in the Premier League, scoring four goals.
On what could be limiting Rashford’s performance, Foster noted: “Once that spark diminishes, is it possible to reignite it? It must come from within, and I’m uncertain he can recover it.
Ruben Amorim discusses why Marcus Rashford remains sidelined at Man Utd despite ‘wanting to play’
“Then there’s the financial side, which complicates matters.
“When athletes secure lucrative contracts with guaranteed payments for several years, they might lose their motivation.
“The proposed £40 million valuation raises concerns. Would I even consider £10 million? I wouldn’t, considering all that’s at stake.”
Recently, Amorim, 39, was asked about Rashford’s situation during a Sky Sports interview.
‘A CHALLENGING SITUATION’
The Portuguese manager commented: “It’s a challenging situation. I understand that many players are surrounded by individuals whose decisions may not align with their own preferences.
“I’m committed to supporting Marcus just as I would any other player. I must operate within the confines of my role.
“They opted for an interview, as this is not just Marcus’s situation. I recognize that.
“As a coach, I focus on their performance and training. The rest can be addressed at an opportune moment for both myself and the club.”
Later today, Manchester United is set to play against Wolves.
Rashford’s last appearance was in the 2-1 win against Viktoria Plzen on December 12.
