
The premier league club that has had the greatest success on Boxing Day has been revealed, and to everyone’s surprise, they do not even occupy a spot in the upper half of this year’s league table.
An extensive analysis of over three decades of data has been conducted, revealing numerous compelling statistics that highlight the teams with the most victories and defeats.

The findings reveal that Manchester United fans have the most to celebrate on Christmas – they have secured more wins in Premier League Boxing Day fixtures than any other club.
In fact, United leads the pack with a remarkable total of 21 wins, and they’ve also scored the highest number of goals, netting 76 times on December 26th.
On the flip side, Newcastle holds the unfortunate record for the most losses on Boxing Day, facing defeat 15 times across 32 matches and conceding 45 goals.
Four clubs – Manchester City, Everton, Chelsea, and Aston Villa – feature on both the winning and losing lists, owing to their numerous festive matches contributing to both wins and defeats over the years.

The insights are derived from a survey involving 2,000 football fans, revealing that 40% of respondents look forward to Boxing Day football more than any other date on the football calendar.
The excitement surrounding the festive football season outstrips even transfer deadline day (13 percent) and the Carabao Cup final (10 percent), confirming it as the day fans anticipate the most.
Notably, almost all teams compete on this day, with fans enjoying turkey sandwiches while watching from their homes.
Moreover, the average football fan may tune into as many as five matches during this bustling festive period, accumulating more than 10 hours of live football action.
A spokesperson from Lottoland.co.uk Sportsbook, which conducted the research and created a tool for fans to forecast scores for this year’s matches, remarked: “This is truly a late Christmas treat for football fans.
“While players might dislike the training and need to stick to a pasta diet throughout the holiday season, fans relish the abundance of football entertainment.

“There’s so much to enjoy, and the Boxing Day fixtures are a highlight for many when the schedule is revealed.”
The study points out that most fans don’t empathize with Premier League players working on Boxing Day, contrasting with the majority of other workers who have the day off.
In fact, 27% displayed limited sympathy while 34% admitted to feeling none at all.
Fans treasure festive sports for various reasons, including sharing the experience with loved ones at home (22 percent) and finally moving on from the “Christmassy” TV shows and films (17 percent).
Additionally, 13 percent view watching 90 minutes of sports as a much-needed escape from family responsibilities.
Interestingly, 29 percent are inclined to watch matches even if their own team is not in action, simply because the games are available to watch.
Furthermore, 34 percent express particular enthusiasm for this year’s December 26 fixtures due to the captivating title race.
Almost one in five (17 percent) even find more joy in the sport on this day than in unwrapping their presents.
However, three out of ten stated that if their team loses on Boxing Day, it can sour their entire festive experience, according to data from OnePoll.com.
The representative from Lottoland.co.uk Sportsbook added: “Generally, watching an abundance of football is far more enjoyable when your team wins.
“Experiencing consecutive losses isn’t a pleasant experience for anybody.
“Yet, for those who lack a specific favorite team, the consistent action is definitely a beneficial aspect.”
