THOMAS TUCHEL has conveyed a message to England fans as he gets ready to officially assume the role of the new manager for the Three Lions.
Tuchel is set to begin his tenure as England manager on January 1, which is now just a week away.
The former coach of both Chelsea and Bayern Munich, who is now 51 years old, has yet to officially begin his role, but he still took the time to extend festive wishes to supporters on Christmas Day.
In a video shared by England on social media, he said: “A short message to all our England supporters: Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
“Stay safe, enjoy the holidays, and I look forward to seeing you soon at the stadium. Bye.”
Tuchel will start his responsibilities at St George’s Park next Wednesday, beginning preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
However, his first match in charge is set for March 21, when England faces Albania at Wembley, marking the first qualification match for the 2026 tournament.
Even though he hasn’t officially started his managerial duties yet, Tuchel attended the World Cup qualification draw in Zurich earlier this month, which is when the Christmas message appears to have been recorded.
Tuchel watched as England learned they would need to surpass Albania, Andorra, Latvia, and Serbia to qualify for the World Cup in North America.
The Champions League winning coach has largely kept a low profile since being named as Gareth Southgate’s successor.

During his first press conference following his appointment as the new manager, he discussed what fans might anticipate from his team under his guidance.
