The trio, dubbed the “Class of 92,” continue to compete at the highest level and have amassed a remarkable 14 world titles collectively.

Hendry forecasts that O’Sullivan will retire before Mark Williams.

In a recent conversation on Stephen Hendry’s Cue Tips, Hendry posed the question to Williams: “Who do you think will be the first to retire? I predict it will be Ronnie.

“This isn’t a reflection of his talent or anything similar.

“He’s currently enjoying a significant income, and I’m not sure if he still possesses the same competitive spirit.”

O’Sullivan opted out of the Scottish Open recently and proceeded to Saudi Arabia for the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship, where he advanced to the semi-finals.

His upcoming competitive snooker engagement will be the Masters, where he is slated to play against Higgins in the first round on January 12.

Regarding 2025, he stated: “I plan to return to the UK around January 3 or 4.

“I’ve been in Saudi Arabia. Following that, I will spend a week in Macau, and then 3-4 days in China before returning home. It’s not the most convenient plan.

“Before the last Masters, I performed exceptionally well at both the Shanghai Masters and the UK Championship. I had been playing a lot of snooker.

“However, I have hardly played any matches since August. It is what it is.

“Looking ahead, it could take time before anything materializes, be it this year or the next.

“I intend to keep playing, enjoying the experience, and having fun, and let’s see how things unfold.

“I don’t have any specific New Year’s resolutions in mind. Perhaps it’s just to maintain my health and happiness.

“I spend considerable time in the gym. Although I hadn’t run in a year, I started again a couple of months back due to some knee issues.

“So I’m getting back into running, focusing on gym workouts and staying fit, as it’s beneficial for my mind and overall well-being.”
