The holiday spirit was notably absent between a professional lacrosse player and two fans who allegedly experienced a troubling event.
Tyson Bell, a prominent player for the Halifax Thunderbirds, is currently under scrutiny from the National Lacrosse League following the emergence of footage that appears to show him punching a fan and hitting another with his lacrosse stick.
This event transpired after the Thunderbirds suffered a 19-14 defeat against the Colorado Mammoth in Denver on December 21.
Bell appeared to be provoked by jeers from fans as he made his way into the tunnel after the game.
While three of his teammates managed to remain composed despite the abuse, Bell reacted vehemently to the derogatory comments and gestures directed at them.
As he approached the tunnel, the 30-year-old turned to confront the fans on the other side of the barrier.
In that instance, he allegedly PUNCHED one of the spectators.
He then struck a second fan on the head with his stick after they had pushed the barrier towards him.
Ultimately, teammates, other bystanders, and security personnel were able to guide the long-stick midfielder away from the incident.
The NLL released a statement the following day.
