City complicated their disappointing run over the weekend by suffering a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa and are eager to bounce back against the Toffees tomorrow.

Guardiola aims to maintain the team’s regular pre-match schedule by having the players stay overnight at the training facility in readiness for the 12:30pm kickoff at the Etihad Stadium.

On his team’s preparations, he commented: “We train today (Tuesday), we train tomorrow (Wednesday) night, we will stay here and we are going to play on Boxing Day.”

Players were given the opportunity to spend time with their families earlier in the week and enjoyed Christmas Day with their loved ones before returning to the Etihad Campus for evening training.

Guardiola expressed his hope that the players would be inclined to work that evening, emphasizing it as part of their professional responsibilities.

He stated: “Hopefully they want to be here, because it’s our job.”

It is customary for teams to assemble on Christmas Day, particularly when fixtures are set for Boxing Day.

City aims to leverage a home game against 15th-placed Everton as a chance to regain momentum following a challenging period with only one win in their last 12 GAMES across all competitions.

Guardiola emphasized that the focus of the entire club is on overcoming their current struggles, identifying the clash with Everton as a possible turning point.

“This situation is unfamiliar to all of us. It’s about everyone. The players are running and putting in more effort than ever,” he remarked.

“People say we are not running, pointing at this player or that manager – it’s not solely about that.

“It involves many minor or major details that hinder us from performing as we once did. However, we have another opportunity on Boxing Day.

“We have players coming back, and at some point, we will start to improve.”
