ROB CROSS was spotted making an inappropriate gesture during his second-round defeat to Scott Williams at the World Darts Championship.
The 34-year-old former world champion suffered a surprising 3-1 loss on Monday, becoming the record-breaking 14th seed to be eliminated from the tournament.
He began his tournament well by winning the first set.
However, Williams rallied to claim three consecutive sets, setting up a third-round clash with Germany’s Ricardo Pietreczko.
During the match, Cross was caught on camera performing a suggestive act in front of the crowd at Ally Pally.
As he left the stage at the end of one of the sets, he made the gesture before heading backstage.
This incident went unmentioned during Sky Sports’ broadcast.
Cross secured his only world title on his first appearance at Ally Pally nearly seven years ago.
Since then, he has failed to advance past the fourth round in his subsequent five world championship outings.
Last year, he unexpectedly reached the semi-finals, only to be beaten 6-2 by Luke Littler.
On Monday, he had no answer to Williams as he became yet another notable victim in the tournament.
Cross’ exit coincided with the elimination of seeds Gian van Veen and Dave Chisnall on the same night.

Van Veen lost 3-1 to Pietreczko, while Chisnall fell in a sudden-death leg against Ricky Evans.
