Oleksandr Usyk Offers Prediction on Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury After Sparring 24 Rounds with Both British Icons

OLEKSANDR USYK has shared his thoughts on the highly awaited clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, having triumphed over both fighters twice in separate matches.

Usyk first claimed the heavyweight title by defeating AJ in September 2021, subsequently securing another victory in their rematch a year later.

These achievements paved the way for a historic title fight against Fury in May, which Usyk won by split decision.

Only seven months later, he claimed victory over the Gypsy King once again, this time through a disputed unanimous decision.

Given his impressive track record, Usyk is in a prime position to forecast a winner should Joshua, 35, and Fury, 36, finally meet in the ring.

He conveyed his opinion to Boxing King Media: “It might be Anthony Joshua.”

When queried about Joshua’s possible strategy for victory, Usyk, 37, replied: “I’m uncertain, perhaps winning by points. I really don’t know.”

Recently, Joshua secured a fifth-round knockout against Daniel Dubois in September but opted not to pursue a rematch.

Instead, Dubois, 27, is set to defend his IBF title against Joseph Parker, 32, on February 22 in Saudi Arabia.

Promoter Eddie Hearn is now encouraging Saudi boxing figure Turki Alalshikh to negotiate a two-fight deal for Joshua and Fury.

Hearn remarked: “The reality is that the only bout that truly makes sense for Tyson Fury is against Anthony Joshua.

“This represents the biggest clash in British boxing history, one that everyone will want to see. That was not the Tyson Fury who looked washed up.

“He didn’t put forth a lackluster effort, nor did he appear hesitant or display vulnerable punch resistance.

“Tyson Fury is likely still at the peak of his abilities, but just unable to surpass Oleksandr Usyk.

“In my view, the encounter between AJ and Fury is critical. One at Wembley, and then out for Riyadh Season.”
