SEAN DYCHE confirmed that Ashley Young “suffered a neck injury” during the match against Chelsea.
The experienced full-back, who is 39 years old, will miss the Boxing Day match against Man City due to a suspension.

The former England international received his fifth yellow card in the draw against Chelsea, leading to a one-match suspension.
He was substituted in the final 15 minutes of the game, allowing club captain Seamus Coleman to take his place.
However, Dyche later indicated that Young would have been a doubt for the Etihad match regardless due to the injury that prompted his substitution.
Dyche noted: “Youngy is suspended, but he sustained a neck injury, yet he still managed a fantastic header at the far post.
“We had to replace him for both reasons – to check his physical wellbeing and because he was on a yellow card.”
Both Young and his 18-year-old son Tyler, who plays for Peterborough United, are hoping the injury isn’t serious.
This is particularly crucial as Everton is set to face the League One team in the FA Cup on January 9, a match that could potentially see a father-son showdown.
Despite his age, Young continues to be a vital contributor for Everton, having already made 14 Premier League appearances this season.
