LENNOX LEWIS has encouraged Tyson Fury to face off against Anthony Joshua next, particularly following Fury’s recent unsatisfactory defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
In May, Usyk made history by becoming the first boxer to best Fury, securing a remarkable split-decision win in Saudi Arabia.
In a contentious rematch in Riyadh, the Ukrainian achieved a 116-112 unanimous decision, with Fury receiving only four rounds in his favor.
After Usyk’s back-to-back victories and his plans for a rematch with Daniel Dubois, the legendary Lewis has recommended that 35-year-old AJ should challenge Fury.
He told TNT Sports: “He travels to London, and it could be the biggest fight in history, maybe against Anthony Joshua.”
After the results were announced, Fury stormed out of the ring in anger, raising questions about his future, which promoter Frank Warren now has to navigate.
Warren commented: “I’m not sure; he is very downcast, just like I am.”
“I’m not biased; it seems everyone there shared the same sentiment.”
When queried if the 36-year-old Fury would make a comeback to the ring, Warren replied: “That’s up to him.
“It’s too early right now; emotions are running high immediately after a fight. We’ll see. It’s unbelievable. Can you honestly say he only won four rounds out of eight?”

Dubois, 27, confronted Usyk, 37, in a fit of anger after losing their last match in 2023, which ended controversially with a low blow.
Lewis commented, “He can retire if he wants. He can do whatever he desires; he is the champion.”
“I don’t want to declare that a rematch will occur and then have it fall through.”
