Reports indicate that a Groningen fan fell from the upper tier.
Sources from the Netherlands state that the person was conscious when transported to a medical facility.
Heracles General Manager Rob Tuessen told ESPN, “We cannot continue with the match due to a breakdown of public order.”
Luka Kulenovic had given the home team the lead in the 20th minute.
Romano Postema equalized with a penalty just five minutes after the break.
Groningen found themselves down a player shortly after the 60-minute mark when Marco Rente received a red card.

“We are profoundly saddened by the incidents that occurred in the away section on Saturday night during the match between Heracles Almelo and FC Groningen, which led to the match being completely abandoned.

No statement has yet been published by Groningen on their official website.
However, a tweet from their official account noted: “The match has been officially halted.
“More information will be forthcoming concerning the future of this match.”
