Body Language Expert: Tyson Fury’s ‘Chilling’ Gesture Raises ‘Red Flag’ About His Chances Against Usyk

OLEKSANDR USYK achieved another controversial victory over Tyson Fury to reclaim his heavyweight belt.

Seven months after their split-decision bout, this time the judges scored it unanimously 116-112 in favor of Usyk.

The Gypsy King stormed out of the ring, leaving his promoter Frank Warren visibly stunned by the outcome.

Here’s how SunSport’s Wally Downes scored the fight…

Round 1

Fury arrived at 11:15pm local time sporting a beard that would make Brian Blessed’s facial hair look minimal.

While his beard was impressive, the sight of his belly as the cameras caught him shirtless in the dressing room was shocking.

His red shorts were pulled so high that much of his midsection was hidden; another inch higher, and the 20st fighter could have tucked his nipples down there too.

Fury tried to intimidate Usyk during the final face-off, widening his eyes like a monster, but the champion remained unfazed.

They exchanged jabs and defended with their lead hands. Usyk landed left punches on Fury’s unsteady belly, then followed with a head shot to take the initial round. Usyk.

Round 2

Usyk started strong, landing a scoring one-two to the head as the round commenced, followed by body shots, including a left that even caused Fury to stumble.

However, the Gypsy King responded with a triple jab and a solid right hand to take the round.

No signs yet of the body shots and uppercuts Fury relied on in the middle rounds of their May bout. Fury

Round 3

Usyk landed three jabs to the body and a left upstairs.

Fury struggled to handle the pressure, landing a small check hook and even attempting a southpaw stance.

But all his threats to skin and cook Usyk fell flat. Usyk.

Round 4

Fury began brightly with a clipped right hand.

Yet Usyk responded with two effective left hands that scored well.

Fury then countered with a significant right hand that pushed Usyk back.

The uppercut came back and pierced through Usyk’s defense. Draw.

Round 5

Fury quickly asserted control with a perfectly placed right at the round’s start.

He was then warned for rabbit punches as he aimed to overpower the champion.

Usyk found himself on the receiving end of a lead left uppercut, followed by body shots, forcing him to retreat and recover. Fury.

Round 6

Fury found himself in trouble. The challenger’s plump physique began to sweat as Usyk consistently targeted it with his powerful left hand.

Then, going for the head, Usyk caught Fury off guard.

The Morecambe giant looked buzzed and distressed, his head rocking back, and he spent the rest of the round covering up. Usyk.

Round 7

A quiet round marked by a sharp one-two from Fury and a solitary left from Usyk. Draw.

Round 8

A one-two-hook worked for Usyk as he controlled the pace and pressure, while Fury attempted to conceal his large target.

The accidental clash of heads thankfully resulted in no injuries.

Fury attempted a feeble offensive, but Usyk grinned and shook his head in response. Usyk.

Round 9

Fury began to tire, burdened by his weight, and Usyk took advantage by consistently attacking.

He struggled to move effectively and fell into Usyk’s rhythm. Usyk.

Round 10

Fury landed a rare uppercut and focused on Usyk’s body, taking the center of the ring, but then absorbed multiple shots.

Fury tried to clinch and drain Usyk’s energy, but a left to the cheek punished him.

Usyk’s strong left sent sweat flying off Fury’s head.

Fury fought back with an uppercut, but Usyk’s aggression and punching ability prevailed. Usyk.

Round 11

These closing rounds could be crucial. Usyk was more active while Fury’s uppercut only barely touched his guard.

Fury fell victim to a quick combination, and it seemed to deflate his energy.

Usyk remained relentless, bouncing and attacking as Fury, weighing 20st, began to wear down. Usyk.

Round 12

Fury began with urgency, knowing he needed at least a knockdown, which allowed Usyk to counter effectively.

A combination of three straight punches landed for the Ukrainian star.

Nevertheless, Fury kept swinging, adjusting his shorts that had slipped down due to sweat from Usyk’s barrage.

With some sections of the unsatisfied crowd booing, they traded blows in the final ten seconds. Usyk.

SunSport’s scorecards: Usyk 118-112 Fury.
