ROY KEANE has shared that he once gave his former teammate Peter Schmeichel a black eye after a vigorous, alcohol-induced confrontation.
The former Manchester United captain admitted that tensions had “been building for years” before the Premier League legends clashed during a pre-season trip to Asia.
Keane, 53, returned to his usual role on Stick to Football‘s Christmas Special, hosted by Sky Bet, alongside Gary Neville, Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher, and Jill Scott.
The discussion turned to Tyson Fury‘s intense training regimen as he prepares for his rematch on Saturday with Oleksandr Usyk.
While Neville and Scott admitted they’ve never thrown or taken a punch, intrigue was sparked about Keane and Wright.
Neville inquired: “When was the last time you fought, was it with Schmeichel in the corridor in Singapore?”

“Had I actually gone to the zoo, none of this would have occurred.”
Wright remembered his last fight was with Steve Bruce in the tunnel during halftime at Old Trafford after they kicked at each other during a match back in 1991.
He later acknowledged that Bruce is a “great guy,” whereas Carragher mentioned he has never had any major fights with a teammate at Liverpool.
Earlier, both Keane and Scott expressed surprise at Fury’s revelation that he hasn’t spoken to his wife Paris and their seven kids for three months.
