Khenyeza and Arrows’ Departure Seems Final

Golden Arrows and Mabhuti Khenyeza appear to have concluded their separation, with a reliable source confirming that he will not be rejoining the team.

An insider from Sportswire, close to Khenyeza, disclosed that the coach will not be returning to the club, and Arrows seems to have reacted to this by removing his profile from their official website.

A few weeks ago, Arrows released a statement indicating that Khenyeza had been ‘absent from work for a week’ and chose to ‘not comment further on this matter.’

Feeling increasingly disheartened, Khenyeza decided to leave the club without officially resigning, believing that Arrows would reconsider their stance and cease to obstruct his coaching responsibilities.

With no solution in sight, the Sportswire insider confirmed Khenyeza’s departure from Arrows, prompting the club to take down his profile from their website.

Khenyeza expressed frustration despite leading the team to two consecutive victories, propelling them into the top six.

Following his departure and absence from the club’s routine operations, Arrows appointed Musa Bilankulu and Kagisho Dikgacoi as co-coaches.

However, their first match in command last weekend ended in defeat against bottom-placed Richards Bay at home in the Betway Premiership.

This loss caused Arrows to slide to seventh place in the standings, earning 13 points from seven matches.

Khenyeza’s agents are now exploring new prospects for him in the upcoming year, confident that his achievements at Arrows have laid the groundwork for future coaching opportunities.

The former Kaizer Chiefs striker, who played for the club twice, was known as one of the finest strikers in the PSL, amassing over 100 goals.

He is particularly remembered for scoring the fastest goal in the Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates and Chiefs in November 2007, just 19 seconds into the match, in front of FIFA dignitaries, including then-FIFA President Sepp Blatter, at Kings Park Stadium during the preliminary draw for the 2010 World Cup in Durban.

Another significant accomplishment for Khenyeza was netting two goals as Ajax Cape Town secured victory in the Carling Knockout during the 2008/09 season, defeating Pirates at Chatsworth Stadium.
