DYSART ENOS (3.35 Ascot, nap)
After progressing through the novice ranks last season, she still holds a reasonable handicap mark and looked strong prior to her lack of preparation affecting her last time. She is definitely capable at this level if the conditions remain favorable.
FAMOUS BRIDGE (2.05 Haydock, nb)
He won this race under muddy conditions last year and stands a solid chance again from just 2lb higher in the weights. Nicky Richards’ stayer looked promising during his return at Kelso and should be perfectly primed for his final showdown.
STRONG LEADER (2.25 Ascot, treble)
He has the potential to live up to his name, provided the ground is not too challenging. He has impressive form on good ground, including a win in the Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle in April. After returning with a comfortable win at Newbury, he is expected to have more to offer.

ASCOT
1.50
IROKO was a standout performer with a second-place finish at Haydock in his comeback last month. He was well behind turning for home but made significant progress to finish just half a length away. With Grade 1 placements and solid stamina, he can win this race.
Jungle Boogie was on the rise until a late error in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and poses a threat, especially if the ground softens. Henry De Bromhead’s horses are in fine form.
We must also consider the other two contenders, as Fil Dor has recently been competitive in tough races, although his previous win at Thurles was rather straightforward.
James Du Berlais fell at Punchestown in May after a strong second-place finish in the Topham over the National fences. He excels at this distance and could be a surprise contender.
2.25
STRONG LEADER can fulfill his name if the ground conditions remain favorable. He boasts impressive form on good ground, including a victory in the Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle in April. Following a strong start at Newbury, he still has more to give.
Crambo has never lost his first outing of the season and previously won this race after a layoff. This is the moment to catch him, and he’s likely to offer another strong challenge.
The Wallpark seems to improve with every outing and overcame a tough field at Cheltenham last time out in October, displaying stamina in the uphill section. With Gordon Elliott’s horses performing well, he’s a potential danger.
Blueking D’Oroux needs to prove he can handle the distance but could improve on his promising second-place finish here 28 days ago. Ascot suits him, and he might secure a place.
3.00
VICTTORINO won this race a year ago and returns just 1lb higher on the handicap, with trainer Venetia Williams enjoying a stellar season. Stable jockey Charlie Deutsch is highly adept over fences and can navigate him around despite his tendency to hit a few fences. He has shown impressive form, finishing third at Newbury on his return, and should be fit for this challenge.
Trelawne may also be a contender for Kim Bailey, having had a strong victory at Haydock last month while thriving at this distance. The stable also fields veteran Two For Gold, who has a solid record at Ascot and shouldn’t be overlooked for at least a place.
Threeunderthrufive also enjoys this venue and has performed well previously after a break. The Changing Man was close at Newcastle last time out and is another worth considering.
3.35
THIS promises to be a highly competitive race, but it would be disappointing if DYSART ENOS doesn’t take advantage of her encouraging third in the Greatwood Hurdle to secure victory. She has moved through the novice ranks last season while still holding a fair handicap mark; she was strong before fading last time due to inexperience. She is well-suited to this level, assuming the conditions remain moderate.
Be Aware finished just ahead of our selection at Cheltenham and remains a significant threat. Though he typically runs from off the pace, Ascot may not suit him, but his talent is undeniable.
Kabral Du Mathan has swept all three of his hurdle starts and deserves a shot at this higher grade. His commanding performance on handicap debut at Kempton suggests an 8lb increase may not hinder him.
Steel Ally was well ahead in his last race at Haydock and can contend for a place along with Kihavah, who had a respectable third behind Sir Gino in the recent Fighting Fifth at Newcastle.
HAYDOCK
2.05
FAMOUS BRIDGE won this race comfortably last year under soft conditions and has a solid chance once again, despite a 2lb increase in the weights. Nicky Richards’ stayer showed promise on his return at Kelso and should be ready to deliver his best performance.
With Venetia Williams in excellent form, Frenchy Du Large poses a considerable threat. Although it’s been nearly three years since his last triumph, he remains competitive with plenty of stamina.
East Street secured two victories over fences before convincingly winning over hurdles here last time. Under trainer James Owen’s guidance, he looks transformed and might be ahead of the handicapper.
Credo performed well in this race last year, placing third and returning to her preferred conditions. She is gradually descending the weights, especially with her jockey claiming a valuable 10lb.
2.40
LUNE DE LA MER is the most interesting runner returning after a break. He had an impressive victory as a bumper winner and followed with a successful hurdle debut at Aintree. The handicapper has shown some leniency with an initial mark of 110, and he can contend for Greenall and Guerriero, who can get a horse fit at home.
Milldam tends to make mistakes but has good ability, and he may have needed the run at Huntingdon earlier this month. He performs well over this distance, especially on soft ground, under the guidance of in-form trainer Jamie Snowden.
Jilaijone posted a respectable second at Warwick last month. He is dropping down the weights and handles soft conditions well.
Admiralty House ran away with his rider at Doncaster last time but would be a contender if settling better with today’s 3lb claimer. He possesses significant potential for improvement.
