AmaZulu Confirms Continued Pursuit of Striker

AmaZulu co-coach Vusi Vilakazi has indicated that the club is still active in the transfer market, emphasizing the need for a permanent striker.

This statement follows the recent signings of Sandile Mthethwa and Bongani Zungu as the team strengthens its lineup ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Vilakazi highlighted that their top goal scorer, Etiosa Ighodaro, is on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns and is not a permanent fixture in the AmaZulu squad.

“I believe we also need to enhance our striker options,” Vilakazi mentioned. “We currently have Sede Dion, Ighodaro, and Mbhobho (Senzo Ndlovu). Unfortunately, since Ighodaro is on loan, he is not our player. We need to recruit a striker who can boost competition and fit into our system effectively. This is a crucial area where we need to ensure we have the right individuals.”

The 23-year-old Ighodaro has been vital for AmaZulu this season, sharing the top scorer position with Hendrick Ekstein, having scored three goals in the league.

Currently positioned 13th on the Betway Premiership table, Usuthu is preparing to face league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at the Moses Mabhida Stadium this Tuesday.
