THE Riyadh Season Snooker Championship will occur THIS WEEK, showcasing some of the finest players from across the world.

Initially scheduled for March, this prestigious tournament in Saudi Arabia was originally titled the World Masters of Snooker.

Sporting legend Ronnie O’Sullivan bested Luca Brecel with a scoreline of 5-2 to clinch the championship and a prize worth £250,000.

The Rocket will again go head-to-head with nine other elite players.

To finalize the 12-player roster in Riyadh, two more wildcards will be added.

The distinctive Golden Ball, valued at 20 points and allowed only to be potted following a 147 break, will return, giving players the opportunity to achieve a score of 167 – the highest break recorded in snooker.

If a player successfully reaches that impressive 167 break, they will be awarded an astonishing $1 million (£792,000).
