Hakim Ziyech to Leave in January, Deems Transfer a Letdown

HAKIM ZIYECH has declared his plan to leave Galatasaray in January, stating that he “does not wish” to remain with the club.

The attacking midfielder joined the Turkish team on loan from Chelsea in 2023, a deal that was subsequently made permanent during the summer.

Ziyech, 31, enjoyed a productive first season at Galatasaray, scoring eight goals in just 23 matches.

However, his playing opportunities have dwindled this season, with only 11 appearances recorded so far.

The Moroccan international has openly critiqued manager Okan Buruk.

He remarked that the coach’s level of competence is unlike anything he has encountered previously.

The midfielder reiterated his desire to exit the club in the approaching January transfer window.

Moreover, he expressed remorse over his decision to join Galatasaray in the first place.

He stated: “Galatasaray is over for me. I don’t want to play here anymore. I’m leaving in January.”

“I’ve never encountered a coach of such a low caliber.”

Currently, Galatasaray leads the Turkish Super Lig, boasting a six-point advantage.

The Istanbul side has secured victories in 13 of their 15 league games, remaining unbeaten to date.
