DELE ALLI has posted an emotional goodbye as he leaves Everton.
The ex-Tottenham and England midfielder’s deal with the Toffees came to an end in the summer, yet he continued to train with the team.
Nevertheless, he will not be renewing his contract with the Merseyside club, declaring on Instagram that he is looking for “some exciting opportunities”.
He mentioned: “As widely reported this week, 2025 may lead to new pathways with some exciting opportunities.
“Before those unfold, it is important for me to express my gratitude to all the fans, staff, and players at Everton FC for their incredible support.
“This journey has been quite challenging as I’ve worked hard to regain my match fitness.
“I owe a great deal to the Everton staff for their commitment during this time.
“Unfortunately, things have not gone as we had wished, and I feel it’s time for me to move on to a new chapter.
“I wish everyone at this amazing club all the best, and I hope we will have the chance to meet again soon.”
Alli, who has not played in a competitive match for TWO YEARS, joined Everton in January 2020 but was loaned out to Besiktas shortly after.
He departs Goodison Park having played only 13 matches.
Alli openly discussed his mental health struggles during an April interview with Gary Neville, where he revealed his fight against sleeping pill dependency.

He shared: “Now seems like the appropriate time for me to reveal what has been happening.
“It’s hard to talk about as it’s something I’ve hidden for quite some time. I fear discussing it.
“Upon returning from Turkey, I discovered I needed surgery; I was in a quite dark place mentally, and I chose to enter a modern rehab facility focused on mental health.
“They specialize in addiction and trauma. I felt it was my time to seek help.
“You can’t be forced to go there – it has to be a conscious choice for it to work.
“I was caught in a harmful cycle and engaging in behaviors that were detrimental to me.”
