Although Tyson Fury stumbled in the mental battle against Oleksandr Usyk, his trainer conveys a strong sense of confidence in his ability to redeem himself in Riyadh.

Andy Lee, a former middleweight world champion from Ireland and a cousin of the Gypsy King, plays an essential role as a key advisor within his camp.

Fury, now 36 years old, was devastated before their initial heavyweight bout in May, following the news that his wife, Paris, suffered a miscarriage six months into her pregnancy.

Lee acknowledges that he cannot ascertain the impact of Fury’s first professional loss on his fighting spirit and confidence until the match begins on Saturday.

Lee stated, “Only he can truly assess that. He is exceptionally determined and self-assured. Yet, it’s common for fighters to feel a bit hesitant after their inaugural defeat; it can shake one’s confidence.

“However, with Tyson Fury, you are not just dealing with an average human being or fighter.

“You’re encountering a remarkable individual — I have complete faith in him.”

At a towering height of 6ft 9in, Fury showcases impressive agility, recovery skills, and charisma, all enhanced by his complex mindset.

Now, he must rebuild his confidence and plans to overcome the man he previously insulted as an “ugly, little rabbit sausage.”

During an October press conference, the Ukrainian gained the upper hand by presenting images of his devastating ninth-round knockout that played a pivotal role in his split-decision victory.

Lee further commented on Fury: “I’ve always referred to him as the puppet master, as he has the skill to control his opponents during weigh-ins and interviews. However, with Usyk, I don’t think he has achieved that so far.

“There’s the visible conflict, the tussle of hands and feet in the ring. But underneath, a much deeper battle is happening, a clash of wills.

Tyson Fury delivers a chilling warning to Oleksandr Usyk about serious harm during their heavyweight rematch

“I’m uncertain how much it weighs on him because during one of our recent discussions in training camp, I observed that he appeared to be peaking perfectly.

“He interjected to announce, ‘Andy, I’m going to crush this guy. I’ll simply overpower him. I don’t comprehend why everyone is worried and debating strategies; I’m just going to bulldoze through him’.

“After hearing that, I thought to myself, ‘Oh yes, he’s undoubtedly ready’. I believe in him.

“I genuinely have faith in him. If anyone can overcome all these obstacles, it’s Tyson Fury.”
