The semi-final matches of the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship have been POSTPONED.
This delay puts Ronnie O’Sullivan‘s face-off against Ding Junhui at risk – just hours after the arena was thrown into disarray when the lights went out.
Matches are falling behind schedule in Saudi Arabia, with play currently delayed by one hour.
A statement from the WST indicated that: “The afternoon session today will now commence at 6 PM local time, which is 3 PM GMT.
“Mark Allen is set to face Mark Selby for a chance at competing for the 167 prize and a spot in the semi-final tomorrow.”
“The second match is scheduled to start at 7 PM local time, or 4 PM GMT.”
There has been no information provided regarding the cause of the delay.
This situation may jeopardize O’Sullivan’s challenge against Ding, which is planned to start at 9 PM local time – 11 PM UK time.
There is a possibility that the seven-time world champion’s semi-final could be completely postponed to a later date.
Kyren Wilson is expected to compete against Luca Brecel after Allen’s match with Selby.

Judd Trump scores 500 POINTS consecutively in a single match at the UK Championship – but falls short of Ronnie O’Sullivan’s record
This news comes mere hours after play was suspended due to the arena being thrown into darkness.
Zhang Anda was in competition against Ahmed Aseeri in Saudi Arabia when the lights began flickering.
The snooker tournament in Riyadh began this year, offering an impressive $1 MILLION (£780,000) bonus to the first player to achieve a 167.
Fans humorously responded to Zhang as he attempted this remarkable feat – prompting organizers to take measures to address the situation.
One fan commented: “This lighting issue is ridiculous; I feel for Anda as it could severely distract him while trying for the 147/167.”
