CRYSTAL PALACE has announced an important update concerning its plans to upgrade Selhurst Park.
The Eagles are set to build a new main stand, with construction expected to kick off at the end of this season.
The redevelopment is projected to boost the stadium’s capacity from 26,000 to 34,000.
There will be improvements in hospitality and accessible seating options, as well as the addition of a club museum.
Palace announced that they are now in the “final planning phase,” with “enabling works” currently in progress.
This includes the establishment of new club offices and an away dressing room beneath the Holmesdale Road stand.
The Premier League club has made updates to the seating arrangement, fan zone, and entrance to the stand since their last report in June.
Palace is also close to finalizing an agreement with Croydon Council regarding a “construction management plan” intended to reduce inconveniences for local residents during the development.
Reports suggest that the renovation project is expected to last two-and-a-half years.
According to Building Magazine, the estimated costs for the renovations have risen to £150 million.

Palace chairman Steve Parish mentioned last summer his vision for a stadium that the entire south London community could take pride in.
He further added: “The project has faced some delays, but there is a substantial amount of work being done that may not be immediately noticeable.

“Efforts are currently focused on relocating offices to ensure that all teams, including the Palace Foundation, are centralized, creating a marketing suite, and modifying the Holmesdale basement to establish temporary away dressing rooms — all of which are necessary steps.
“We need to enhance the club’s financial position.
“Increasing revenue to compete with larger-stadium clubs—like Aston Villa, Newcastle, and West Ham—is vital as many are also pursuing expansions. Staying competitive is crucial.
“This endeavor is about making prudent long-term decisions for the club, including striving for optimal performance on the pitch.”
