The announcement of The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2024 will take place online on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, during a live-streamed ceremony from Doha, Qatar.
The evening prior to the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024™ final, where Real Madrid C.F. will compete against CF Pachuca, will coincide with the second anniversary of one of the most spectacular FIFA World Cup™ finals. During a gala dinner at the prestigious Aspire Academy, 2024’s top players, coaches, and fans will be celebrated.
This exceptional dinner not only marks the 20-year anniversary of Aspire Academy but will also welcome numerous dignitaries, including the FIFA President, FIFA Council members, FIFA Legends, and other prominent figures from the global football community, both locally and regionally.
Fans continue to have an essential impact in determining the award winners, influencing the results for several categories, including The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Player, The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, and The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper.
Winners are decided through a fair voting system that includes input from fans, current captains and coaches of all national teams (both men’s and women’s), as well as media professionals.
This year introduces a new aspect, with fans also participating in the selection of The Best FIFA Men’s 11 and The Best FIFA Women’s 11. In this process, fans will choose from a selection of 77 nominated players and organize them into tactical formations, with the final decisions reflecting equal input from both fan votes and an expert panel.
The voting for the newly established FIFA Marta Award and the FIFA Puskás Award, which celebrate the best goals in women’s and men’s football respectively, will be determined by a combination of fan votes and a panel of FIFA Legends. Meanwhile, the FIFA Fan Award will be exclusively determined by fan votes, whereas the FIFA Fair Play Award recipient will be selected by an expert committee.
Comprehensive information regarding the voting procedures and criteria for all awards can be accessed in the Rules of Allocation.
