RACHAEL BLACKMORE faced a setback in her return from a serious neck injury, finishing second on the well-backed favorite, Slade Steel.
The trailblazing former Grand National champion required three months of recovery following a fall at Downpatrick.
Despite this, she had an exhilarating comeback ride at Naas on Monday, riding alongside last season’s Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner.

De Bromhead is likely to enter many of his top competitors at Leopardstown and potentially in Britain, with Blackmore as his leading jockey.
The pair previously won the Gold Cup and Grand National in 2021, and De Bromhead has gathered another strong group of horses for this year.
Having worn a neck brace during her recovery, Blackmore has been out of action since mid-September.

The 35-year-old suffered a severe fall from Hand Over Fist, trained by Denis Howard, during a handicap chase.
No specific timeline for her return was provided, and an IHRB statement at the time noted: “Rachael Blackmore has sustained a neck injury and will not ride in the coming weeks while she undergoes rehabilitation for her injury.”
