Pep Guardiola Stays in Man City Dressing Room for 30 Minutes After Man Utd Loss, Says ‘I’m Not Good Enough’

AMAD DIALLO left Manchester City shocked as he turned the derby result on its head.

The energetic winger won a penalty, converted by Bruno Fernandes, in the closing moments to bring the score level.

But the highlight was still to come as Amad skillfully rounded Ederson, slotting home a dramatic winner from a tight angle deep into injury time.

Here’s how SunSport’s Neil Custis assessed the Man Utd players…

Andre Onana – 6

He does not instill much confidence. He has difficulties commanding his area and, as observed midweek in Plzen, his distribution often serves the opposition better.

Nonetheless, he wasn’t put under significant pressure.

Lisandro Martinez – 7

He seems more composed under Amorim than he did before, where he often pressured himself to live up to his ‘Butcher of Amsterdam’ label.

Delivered an excellent through ball late in the game to set up Amad’s winner.

Harry Maguire – 8

Engaged in a superb battle with Erling Haaland, where the United defender came out on top.

It was the right choice to include the former captain for such a pivotal match. He fits well in that central defensive position.

Matthijs de Ligt 78′ – 7

Delivered a solid performance. He appeared more comfortable alongside Maguire than he has with his other defensive teammates.

Diogo Dalot – 5

He mistimed his jump, allowing Josko Gvardiol to score from a corner for City. He didn’t significantly contribute going forward from his wing-back position.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

Missed a crucial chance after being set up by Hojlund and shooting wide.

However, when the penalty opportunity arose, he kept his cool under pressure, sending Ederson the wrong way to equalize.

Manuel Ugarte – 7

Effectively protected the back four and neutralized much of what Phil Foden attempted for the home side.

Noussair Mazraoui 78′ – 8

The standout performer among the summer signings. Played as a right wing-back and effortlessly adapted to various demands. One of United’s top players during the match.

Mason Mount 13′ – 6

He looked visibly upset when he had to leave the pitch early. He has faced a terrible string of injuries and hasn’t settled in consistently since joining the club.

Amad Diallo 90′ – 9

He delivered the most unforgettable moment of his career with a stunning derby-winning goal. Initially, he made a fantastic run to meet Martinez’s pass, nudged the ball past Ederson, and although his finish was somewhat scuffed, it hit the target.

He nearly equalized with a flicked header earlier, which was well saved by Ederson.

He was also quick to capitalize on Nunes’s back pass, leading to the penalty that leveled the score for United.

Rasmus Hojlund 78′ – 6

His presence was mainly noted during his confrontation with Walker when the City player fell to the ground, and during a minor tumble of his own while seeking a penalty.

However, he delivered a brilliant pass for Fernandes that should have resulted in an equalizer.

Subs

Kobbie Mainoo 13′ – 6

He did well after coming on for Mount, allowing Fernandes to take a more advanced role.

Joshua Zrikzee 78′ – 6

Not necessarily the type of player to change a match, but he managed possession well in the final moments.

Antony 78′ – 6

He entered the game hoping to make an impact but showed signs of lacking confidence due to limited playing time.

Leny Yoro 78′ – 6

He is gradually regaining full fitness after an injury sustained over the summer.

Victor Lindelof 90′ – 6

Had little time to make an impact in the match.
