Kaizer Chiefs Face Galaxy Without Six Key Players

Kaizer Chiefs will face TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Monday at 15:30, missing six key players due to injuries.

The Amakhosi, who have faced challenges with their form this season, will be without midfielders Edson Castillo, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and Gaston Sirino, as well as defenders Dillan Solomons and Bradley Cross, and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen.

“The injuries occurred during various matches, but we expect the players to return shortly. Despite these hurdles, Amakhosi remain focused on their preparations for the match and are hopeful of delivering a strong performance,” the team stated.

“Coach Nabi’s team is eager to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Polokwane City last weekend. In their last league encounter, TS Galaxy claimed victory.”

Sirino’s absence is particularly significant given that he shares the team lead in assists with Yusuf Maart, each having provided three assists this season. Both teams have been high-scoring, with the standout performers being Denan Zajmović for Galaxy and Mdu Shabalala for Chiefs, each having scored three goals.

Currently, Chiefs rank ninth in the Betway Premiership with 11 points from eight matches, while Galaxy sits in 11th place with nine points from nine games.

The previous matchup between these teams concluded in an exciting 2-2 draw at FNB Stadium in May of last season, with Siphiwe Mahlangu and Ranga Chivaviro each scoring twice.
