The management at Wolves has quickly begun the search for a replacement, with Vitor Pereira emerging as a target.

The Premier League club is already in discussions to secure Pereira’s services, as reported by The Athletic.

Currently, Pereira manages Al Shabab in the Saudi Pro League, but Wolves are willing to meet his release clause to bring him to the Premier League.

Sources indicate that finalizing personal terms is expected to be straightforward, as Pereira is keen on the move.

His strong sense of discipline and “emotional intelligence” are among the qualities that appeal to Wolves.

O’Neil managed to secure just two wins in 16 Premier League matches this season, with the last two losses resulting in confrontations between his players and those of the opposing team.

Pereira would provide a wealth of experience at Molineux, having managed 13 different clubs during his career.

He has won six titles, including two with Porto, as well as league titles in Greece and China with Olympiacos and Shanghai SIPG.

Pereira started his tenure at Al-Shabab in February, leading the team to an eighth-place finish.

He has maintained this momentum in the current season, currently positioned sixth in the league with seven wins from 13 matches.

After leaving Fenerbahce in December 2021, Pereira was a top candidate for the Everton managerial position, but a fan protest, including graffiti stating: ‘Pereira out, Frank [Lampard] In’, disrupted those aspirations.
