The Placepot is a betting option where you choose a horse to place in the TOP SIX of the first six races at any meeting.

You can pick multiple horses in a race, with your stake calculated by multiplying the selections in each race. For example, for staking it could be 2x2x2x1x2x2 amounting to 32 lines.

Your stake can begin at 5p a line, costing you a total of £1.60. A 10p line will total £3.20, and so forth. As long as at least one horse from every race places, you win!

Also, remember to claim your £40 bonus by wagering £10 as a new customer with Tote HERE*.

Cheltenham Placepot tips – Saturday, December 14th

LEG 1: Ambiente Amigo, Total Look

AMBIENTE AMIGO faced challenges with a third-place finish at Newbury recently, but with Harry Cobden taking the reins today, we hope she’ll perform better on her third outing over hurdles. She previously showcased her talent on the Flat and won impressively on her hurdles debut at Newcastle. There’s definitely room for more progress from James Owen’s filly, especially as she receives valuable weight from the males.

TOTAL LOOK is a strong competitor following his debut victory at Navan last month. Trainer Gavin Cromwell has a remarkable Cheltenham record, and this horse is from a formidable hurdling lineage.

LEG 2: Transmission, Peaky Boy

TRANSMISSION displayed strength in his last victory over course and distance. That was only his second run over fences in the UK, and the handicapper has assigned a reasonable 3lb increase. We anticipate more from him.

PEAKY BOY won his chasing debut here over 2m4f, showcasing his potential with a powerful finish up the hill, making this longer distance optimal for him. Nicky Henderson’s charge jumped well and should be capable of handling a 7lb weight increase.

LEG 3: Coco Mademoiselle, Malaita

COCO MADEMOISELLE has secured a couple of hurdle wins but has always been perceived as a chaser, coming close on her debut over fences at Worcester. She was narrowly defeated after the last fence in the 2m7f race, so this slight distance reduction should work in her favor. Expect notable improvement as she is well handicapped based on her hurdle performance.

MALAITA triumphed in her last race at Cheltenham and was competitive at Carlisle in her most recent outing. She relishes this distance and represents great value to secure a placing.

Madara was an impressive performer last month

LEG 4: Madara, Grandeur D’Ame

MADARA drew attention on debut for the Skelton team in the Paddy Power Gold Cup last month. He was trailing the field three out but had a strong finish, climbing up the hill to finish fourth. With Harry Skelton taking the ride today from a less experienced jockey, combined with his established stamina, we expect him to be ridden more prominently. He enjoys a favorable weight advantage over the winner Il Ridoto, making a positive turnaround in form feasible now that he’s at a career-high rating.

GRANDEUR D’AME regained form with a victory at Chepstow in October. He previously finished an admirable fourth in this race last year, suggesting he can repeat that performance.

LEG 5: Skyjack Hijack

SKYJACK HIJACK is a trainer’s and owner’s ideal prospect with an extraordinary six consecutive victories at Newcastle last time out. His smooth movement over hurdles allows him to lead the pack. Although this presents his toughest challenge yet, his impressive times indicate he can compete at this level. He is adaptable to any ground conditions without stamina issues.

LEG 6: Take No Chances, Pretending

TAKE NO CHANCES put forth a solid performance in the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle two weeks ago and should feel more at home returning to handicap level. Coming into Gosforth Park fresh off a strong 10-length victory in a Listed race at Wetherby, she has demonstrated stamina over three miles. After finishing close at Chepstow from a pound lower in October, she looks ready for further improvement.

PRETENDING led much of her last race at Wincanton before fading towards the end. Having previously claimed victory at this venue, she could retain a placing.
