Zwane Gears Up to Face Thwihli Thwahla

AmaZulu co-coach Arthur Zwane recognizes that their upcoming match against Royal AM will pose significant challenges, but they are ready and will implement a new game plan for this encounter.

Usuthu will face their rivals, Thwihli Thwahla, in the Betway Premiership showdown at King Zwelithini Stadium this Friday at 19:30.

Zwane pointed out that the upcoming clash will not be an easy one, and they are set to adopt a different approach since the opposing team has thoroughly assessed their strengths and weaknesses from the previous match against TS Galaxy.

“Derby games can often be unpredictable, and we are up against a formidable opponent—one that has been in good form,” Zwane commented.

“They showed great determination by fighting back from a 2-0 deficit against Kaizer Chiefs to secure a point away. Such resilience will surely inspire them, and they are always a threat on the field.”

“In general, I believe we are well-prepared and always strive to be ready. Still, these encounters can be quite unpredictable as we seek to secure maximum points. Playing on home turf is an added advantage, and I can sense the players’ excitement for this match.”

“I’m confident they have thoroughly analyzed our strengths and weaknesses. We will utilize a different approach while playing at home, and there is still much room for improvement.”

Meanwhile, the former Chiefs coach remarked that in their last game against TS Galaxy, despite performing well, they faced difficulties in turning opportunities into goals.

“The main focus is on achieving redemption. We didn’t play poorly in our last match against TS Galaxy; we simply struggled with finishing,” he noted.

“Enhancing this aspect will be crucial, and we have discussed it with Coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi. When comparing our performance to that against Richards Bay, we did not execute as well.”

Zwane expressed a desire to carry forward the momentum from their prior match against Bay ahead of the TS Galaxy game. “We intend to build on where we left off in our last encounter against TS Galaxy,” Zwane expressed.

“Upon reviewing our performance, some players struggled in the first half while others had difficulties in the second half; however, thanks to our substitutions, we were able to improve our performance.”

“There are many positives within the team; we just need to be more decisive in front of goal. Additionally, we must be cautious of losing possession easily, especially in critical areas, and ensure we don’t concede goals towards the end of either half.”

Zwane’s team currently stands 14th in the Betway Premiership after seven matches, accumulating six points. In contrast, Thwihli Thwahla occupies 12th place with eight points from nine league games.
