ANDREW CUSHIN has made a remarkable leap from playing Non-League football for Newcastle Benfield to collaborating in the studio with Noel Gallagher.
This 24-year-old Geordie, who once dreamed of becoming a PE teacher, has also partnered with Aston Martin and recently headlined a concert at the F1 team’s newly renovated £200 million facility.
Cushin has received backing from both Oasis frontman Gallagher and Pete Doherty, and has performed as the opening act for One Direction’s Louis Thomlinson.
His career witnessed a major boost after collaborating with Lawrence Stroll’s Aston Martin for a performance at the team’s Soundcheck Concert at Silverstone last week.
Among the audience was former England manager Steve McLaren, while Cushin, a devoted Newcastle fan, took to the stage.
Cushin stated, “I’m still getting familiar with F1, but I’m learning rapidly. Performing in front of an F1 car was an electrifying experience.
“It’s fantastic to see Aston Martin Aramco supporting music and artists.
“I’ve always believed that music and sports complement each other, and I’m thrilled to associate with a brand that promotes creativity and inclusivity.
“Music brings people together, and these events create an incredible energy that inspires the team and its fans.
“Now, I’m proud to say I’m a big fan of Fernando Alonso!”

Cushin began his journey by performing at Newcastle pubs, and within just three weeks, he had secured a manager with connections to Gallagher.
This manager, who was employed by British Airways at Heathrow, had once discovered Gallagher’s guitar on a flight and personally sent it to him in first class.
The two have kept in touch via texts, and Cushin’s manager, a longtime friend from his coaching days, attended his second performance.
He recorded a video of “Waiting For the Rain,” a song penned by Cushin, and shared it with Gallagher, who responded enthusiastically.
Cushin produced demos that Gallagher then presented to a record label, kickstarting his career.
Cushin reflected, “Noel expressed an interest in working on a song with me. That’s where everything began. He’s a great guy and has given me an opportunity I will always value.”
Gallagher not only produced the track but also added backing vocals and played guitar on Cushin’s 2020 song “Where’s My Family Gone.”
Cushin shared, “Noel’s best advice for us was to keep working hard.
“He encouraged me to stay focused, put in the effort, and constantly create.”
The Aston Martin F1 Team Technology Campus boasts a brand new experience center featuring a stage where Cushin performed.
The facility also includes a spin studio, running track, gym, and restaurant, a significant departure from the muddy fields where Cushin played during his youth football days.
He mentioned, “Unfortunately, I can no longer play football, which was a hard decision to come to.”
“Shay Given was my goalkeeping idol during his time at Newcastle. I had the privilege of meeting him a few times as a child; he’s a fantastic person.”
Aston Martin plans to feature Cushin at the F1 paddock next year for media, fans, and guests.
His second album is set to launch next spring, alongside tour plans spanning the UK, USA, and Europe throughout 2025.
