
This Thursday, December 12, 2024, on Soccer Africa, the premier football magazine show on the continent, the final three nominees for the 2024 CAF Awards in the Men’s Player of the Year and Women’s Player of the Year categories will be announced, exclusively on SuperSport, Your World of Champions.


The 2024 CAF Awards ceremony is scheduled for December 16, 2024, in the elegant city of Marrakech, Morocco, gathering the elite African footballers, coaches, and administrators to celebrate the remarkable talents in the sport. This year’s awards will acknowledge accomplishments from January through October of 2024.


In the running for the esteemed Player of the Year award are Simon Adingra (Cote d’Ivoire), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea/Borussia Dortmund), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain), Ademola Lookman (Nigeria/Atalanta), and Ronwen Williams (South Africa/Mamelodi Sundowns).
Ronwen Williams, who achieved ninth place in the Yashin Trophy, given to the world’s top goalkeeper at the Ballon d’Or, is also nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year title.
Zambia’s Barbra Banda headlines the shortlist of five contenders for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award, celebrated for her extraordinary goal-scoring ability for club and country.
Other remarkable nominees for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award consist of the talented Chawinga sisters, Tabitha and Temwa (Malawi), Sanaâ Mssoudy (Morocco), and Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria).
The final three nominees in both categories will be disclosed during the Thursday broadcast of Soccer Africa at 21:00 (CAT) on SuperSport Variety 4/Africa 1.
