Mamelodi Sundowns have officially appointed Miguel Cardoso as their new head coach, taking over from Manqoba Mngqithi.
This announcement was made during a press conference on Tuesday, with Cardoso joined by technical director Flemming Berg and chairman Tlhope Motsepe.
Mngqithi, who replaced Rulani Mokwena at the beginning of the season, now finds himself in a difficult position. Mokwena subsequently moved on to Wydad Casablanca.
Cardoso is no stranger to Sundowns, having previously guided Esperance de Tunis to a victory over them in the CAF Champions League semi-final last season. Esperance ultimately lost to Al Ahly in the final.
