RACEVIEW ROAD (2.05 Kelso, nap)
This six-year-old was just finding his pace at the end of three miles when finishing second at Carlisle recently. George Bewley’s chaser has shown strong performances at this specialist track, and this marathon distance should be ideal for him. He adapts well to ground conditions, and his current handicap rating of 105 has plenty of room for improvement.
PROTEKTORAT (1.50 Huntingdon, nb)
He won the Ryanair Chase over a similar distance last season and should be well-suited to the soft ground. After a decent sixth place in a Cheltenham handicap, he is expected to overcome Ginny’s Destiny again.
DARE TO SHOUT (3.15 Kelso, nb)
He has excelled since transitioning to chasing, recording a promising debut second at Hexham followed by a solid win at Carlisle last time out. He has ample stamina, and a 4lb increase for that victory appears justified.
MATATA (2.40 Kelso, Lucky 15)
He has competed well against Grade 1 opposition last season and looks set to be too strong. This season, he has established himself with a win and a place at Cheltenham. Gunsight Ridge fell during their last encounter, and they meet again today. The selection seems capable of further improvement and can secure a victory for the Twiston-Davies team.
