ARMANDO BROJA is enthusiastic about cementing his name in Everton’s legacy as he prepares for a match he has always “dreamed” of since childhood.
The Albanian forward made his move to Goodison on a season-long loan from Chelsea in August, but a swift Achilles injury kept him off the pitch initially.
Fans finally saw him wearing an Everton shirt for the first time on Wednesday, coming off the bench for the final 12 minutes in their 4-0 win over Wolves.
Now having experienced Goodison Park as a Blue, the relatively under-the-radar Chelsea loanee is eager to make his mark in the historic venue’s final top-flight derby against Arne Slot’s Reds.
At just 23, Broja remarked: “This victory is huge for us, putting us three points clear of the relegation zone. Yet, the matches will keep coming, and we have a big derby on the horizon; we need to stay prepared.”
“As a child, I watched this match, so being able to play in it is a dream come true.”
“I’m thrilled to take part and to soak in the game’s atmosphere.”
Having undertaken previous loan spells with Southampton and Fulham, he is ready to make a significant contribution.
He added: “I’m back from a lengthy injury, so there’s much more to come from me.”
“I can become sharper and improve further.”
