MANCHESTER UNITED suffered another defeat, with goalkeeper Andre Onana facing fresh criticism.
The United shot-stopper was at fault for Morgan Gibbs-White’s goal, which managed to trick him.
Chris Wood clinched the third goal for Forest, even after Bruno Fernandes pulled one back.
Here’s how SunSport’s Neil Custis rated United’s players from Old Trafford.
ANDRE ONANA – 3
Had a terrible outing. For Forest’s second goal, Morgan Gibbs-White’s shot came directly down the middle along the ground.
It might have swerved slightly, yet he still failed to keep it out. For the third goal, he simply allowed it to go over his head. His command in the area is lacking.
LENY YORO – 6
The 19-year-old made his debut for United and looked composed right from the start. Ruben Amorim considers him ‘a special talent.’
He is gradually being reintegrated into the squad following his summer injury and was substituted soon after the hour mark.
MATTHIJS DE LIGT – 5
Amorim has tasked him with aiding ball progression from the back to initiate United’s attacks.
He performed adequately in the first half but was caught off guard for Forest’s third goal, allowing Chris Wood’s header to go by, mistakenly assuming it would miss.
LISANDRO MARTINEZ – 4
His height was thought to be an advantage, but it became a liability just 80 seconds in when Nikola Milenkovic scored with a header.
For Forest’s third goal, he looked uncertain as the ball sailed over him at the far post.
AMAD DIALLO – 7
He is continuing his ascent as a United star with dynamic forward runs from his new wing-back role.
Although he had a few good chances, his shots lacked power, but he made a brilliant run, cut back, and assisted Fernandes for United’s second.
MANUEL UGARTE – 7
He visibly concentrated on defensive duties, and rightly so.
He is a strong presence on the pitch and a valuable addition compared to many others.
KOBBIE MAINOO – 6
Ugarte’s solid performance allowed Mainoo to take more risks in the second half, increasing his threat level.
DIOGO DALOT – 6
In comparison to Amad on the opposite wing, his influence was minimal. He pushed forward more in the second half.
BRUNO FERNANDES – 7
He was constantly involved in the match. However, does the captain really need to contest every decision made by the referee against his team?
He redeemed himself for the careless pass that led to Forest’s second goal by netting a stunning goal.
RASMUS HOJLUND – 6
That makes it three goals in three matches after his two against Bodo Glimt, yet there is still a noticeable lack of movement from the forward.
ALEJANDRO GARNACHO – 5
It was not his best showing, and he seemed frustrated when substituted early in the second half for Marcus Rashford.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
MARCUS RASHFORD (for Garnacho, 58) – 6
These are the matches where he should be making an impact, but that hasn’t been realized.
MAZRAOUI (for Yoro, 66) – 6
One of the signings that the team successfully managed to secure.
HARRY MAGUIRE (for De Ligt, 65) – 6
Once Amorim determines his best starting lineup, Maguire should be a vital component.
JOSHUA ZIRKZEE (for Ugarte, 76) – 5
Predictably, he struggled to leave his mark.
MASON MOUNT (for Fernandes, 76) – 6
Amorim has significant expectations for him, but he still needs to gain the trust of United fans. A lengthy injury-free period is crucial.
