NFL Hall of Famer and ESPN analyst Randy Moss is taking a step back from his live TV duties due to health issues.
Moss is a key member of the panel on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown.
The iconic wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings briefly discussed his health struggles during the December 1 episode, prompting concern from fans regarding the yellow hue in his eyes.
“I just ask for all the prayer warriors to keep me and my family in your thoughts during these challenging times. People have been commenting about my eyes lately,” Moss stated.
“I’m dealing with something, and it’s internal. Your boy is going to overcome this.
“I have an incredible team of doctors and a loving family supporting me.”
Following this, Moss decided to take a leave of absence from the show for an “extended period” to focus on his health, as announced by ESPN.
“For nearly ten years, Randy has been a valued member of our team, continually enriching ‘Countdown’ with his insights and passion,” the network expressed in their announcement.
“He has the complete support of ESPN, and we look forward to his return whenever he is ready.”
NFL supporters rallied around Moss, sending messages of goodwill for his recovery.
“We’re all praying for you, Randy!” one fan remarked.
“An NFL legend, sending well wishes and hope to see him back on screen soon!” another fan wrote.
“Ugh. Wishing the best for Randy Moss!” a third fan added.
“This news is difficult to digest. Sending prayers for Randy,” a fourth fan commented.
