Live Updates on Storm Darragh: Liverpool and Everton Release Statement After Two Championship Matches Are Postponed

Statement on Storm Darragh

Storm Darragh is currently advancing across the Atlantic, leading the Met Office to issue an unusual red ‘danger to life’ alert for regions in Wales, Bristol, and North Somerset.

The FAW has issued a statement emphasizing: “The Met Office has declared red, amber, and yellow weather warnings for the majority of Wales due to Storm Darragh, which is anticipated to bring intense winds and heavy downpours, resulting in significant disruptions and threats to safety.

“Travel conditions will be hazardous, particularly for journeys to and from football matches. Strong winds heighten the risk of injury, and the Met Office recommends remaining indoors whenever feasible.

“Clubs are advised to inspect and secure any loose items around their premises, if it can be carried out safely, including bins, furniture, goalposts, and fencing.”

“The possibility of postponing matches scheduled for Friday, December 6th, and Sunday, December 8th, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with each league’s guidelines.”
