CHELSEA has secured one of the top 15-year-olds in the country.
If he can emulate his father – a true cult hero for Arsenal – then acquiring him from Watford will definitely be worthwhile.
Mathis Eboue, an attacking midfielder, has shone for the Hornets, even making appearances at the under-21 level.
His move to Chelsea illustrates how Chelsea is actively focused on attracting some of the most talented youngsters in the nation to their academy.
Eboue Junior has also played for England at the U-16 level three times.
Remarkably, he netted the only goal that led the Lion Cubs to victory over France and secured the U16 Challenge Trophy in Spain just two months ago.
However, the achievements he has enjoyed at such a young age seem minimal compared to the 15-year illustrious career of his father.
Emmanuel Eboue, who is now 41, made 79 appearances for the Ivory Coast, mainly playing as a right-back.
His most significant recognition came during his tenure at Arsenal from 2004 to 2011.
The iconic former manager Arsene Wenger was responsible for bringing the speedy player over from Belgian team Beveren.

It took Eboue two seasons to establish himself as a regular player, but his vibrant personality and dynamic playing style won over the fans.
At one point, he was met with boos from Arsenal supporters.
I was sacked as a factory worker, the following day I had trials at Arsenal – I was astonished
Just last month, he revealed: “I came home in tears.
“But shortly after, some fans visited the club to express their apologies to me. That gesture was incredibly kind and meant a great deal.
“‘Eboue, don’t pay attention,’ they said. ‘You know we love you’.”
He concluded his time at Arsenal with a runners-up medal in the Champions League and two in the League Cup before transitioning to Galatasaray for a four-year period.
This was followed by a brief period at Sunderland.
In 2016, Eboue Senior received a one-year ban for not paying an agent, which he described as the “lowest point” of his playing days.
However, nearly eight years later, he can take great pride in his son’s remarkable progress.
The Premier League enforced stringent measures to protect young players before Eboue Junior’s transition to Chelsea could be completed.
Compensation for Watford also needed to be agreed upon.
Nonetheless, by Friday night, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that all paperwork was finalized, marking it as a “completed deal”.
