LANDO NORRIS revealed his hope that the ongoing disagreement between George Russell and Max Verstappen continues, calling it “entertaining”.
The Red Bull champion Verstappen and Mercedes driver Russell have been in a heated exchange of words since the Qatar Grand Prix last week.
Verstappen, 27, stated he had “lost all respect” for the Brit and labeled him two-faced after receiving a grid penalty from officials due to Russell’s complaint following a cool-down lap in qualifying.
In reaction, Russell, 26, countered ahead of the upcoming Abu Dhabi season finale by calling the Dutchman a “bully” who allegedly threatened to put his “f****** head in the wall.”
The McLaren driver Norris, who was the last challenger against Verstappen for this season’s drivers’ title, also engaged in some disputes with his fellow countryman on the track this year.
However, off the track, the 25-year-old keeps strong relationships with both drivers and chose not to take sides in this rivalry.
Instead, Norris reflected on his own experiences, humorously wishing for the feud to go on.
In a chat with Sky Sports, he smiled and said: “I hope it doesn’t get resolved, I hope they keep fighting and arguing as it’s entertaining to watch.”
On a more serious note, Norris commented: “It varies, as every driver has their own way of dealing with things. I don’t think Max is trying to intimidate anyone; he’s just sharing his thoughts honestly… People today might not appreciate the truth in life.

“He’s straightforward and voices his opinion, which I respect. Sometimes I may disagree, and sometimes I agree, but that’s part of life.
“I hold both Max and George in high regard, but I’m indifferent if they lose respect for one another.”
Max Verstappen claims he has ‘lost all respect’ for F1 star George Russell in an explicit rant
Norris also lightened the mood by poking fun at the driver drama during the end-of-season driver’s dinner.
He shared a picture of all 20 F1 drivers together after the dinner, captioning it: “2024 dinner! And yes, the two you’re thinking about were seated as far apart from each other as possible.”
One fan responded to the post with: “Part-time F1 driver, full-time troublemaker.”
Another commented: “Lando giving us exactly what we want.”
A third chimed in: “Lando, what a Gossip Girl!”
Former F1 star David Coulthard remarked: “Dinner with a side of drama in the caption.”
Verstappen even replied with an emoji depicting a cut of meat.
As the driver’s title has concluded, the constructor’s championship remains tight, with McLaren holding a 21-point advantage over Ferrari.
In other grid developments, Jack Doohan will take over Esteban Ocon’s seat at Alpine for the final race of the season, leading into next year.
This race also marks Lewis Hamilton’s farewell to Mercedes after an 11-year career with the team that garnered him six world drivers’ titles and eight constructors’ championships.
