
GARY NEVILLE described Arsenal’s set-piece coach as the “most annoying guy in football” – whereas Jamie Carragher insists he deserves a weekly salary of £25,000.
Nicolas Jover, set-piece coach for Mikel Arteta, has gained recognition for effectively crafting corner tactics for the Gunners this season.
Arsenal successfully scored twice from corners against Manchester United at the Emirates, racking up three points in the process.
During The Overlap watchalong, he remarked: “He has got to be the most maddening individual in football, the set-piece coach of Arsenal.
“He absolutely must be, right? No doubt about it!”
Arsenal icon Ian Wright laughed, saying: “Naturally, no one values someone who does poorly at their job.”
Carragher further stated: “Quite frankly, give him whatever he asks for.
“If you were in charge of set-pieces for Arsenal, you could practically name your own price, right? They wouldn’t dare let him walk.
“If he stated, ‘I want 25 grand weekly,’ you would have to concede, wouldn’t you?”
Goals from headers by Jurrien Timber and William Saliba secured Arsenal’s win.

Manchester United manager Amorim expressed regret over the goals allowed, commenting: “The set pieces changed the match dynamic. We should’ve been more aggressive towards the Arsenal goal. Up until the set pieces, there weren’t numerous opportunities for either team; those corners altered everything.”
Since the beginning of the previous season, Arsenal has netted 22 goals from corners, the highest of any team in the Premier League.
Chelsea and Arsenal trail league leaders Liverpool by seven points, the latter having drawn 3-3 with Newcastle.
In the meantime, United finds itself in 11th place following a loss in their initial match under new manager Ruben Amorim.
