The legendary Red Devils player David Beckham is well-versed in the rivalry with Arsenal, having been a key player in these matches until his move to Real Madrid in 2003.

Now, the 49-year-old must navigate the rivalry within his own home, as his second eldest son, Romeo, passionately supports the Gunners.

As United visits the Emirates for their first encounter of the season, Romeo took to Instagram to amp up the anticipation before the game.

He shared a selfie captioned: “Huge game in the old Beckham household today @davidbeckham. COYG.”

However, Inter Miami owner Beckham did not hold back, delivering an intense reply.

Quoting Romeo’s post on Instagram, he remarked: “Big game for you guys.

“Just another match for us.”

Beckham reminisced about a weekend when Romeo wanted to catch an Arsenal game, during which he was graciously treated by then-Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who invited him into the locker room to meet the players and presented him with a signed shirt.

Since that time, Beckham has found it challenging to sway his son back to his beloved former club.

He told Rio Ferdinand Presents: “It was done!

“I’ve tried to change his mind ever since, but it’s been an uphill battle.”

This match marks the onset of an exciting 13-game span for Arsenal, where they will only travel 250 miles across all competitions.

A win for Mikel Arteta‘s squad could reduce the gap to six points behind Liverpool, should the league leaders stumble against Newcastle.

Conversely, a victory for Ruben Amorim‘s team would bring them within three points of Arsenal.
