TEAM EUROPE reveled in their triumph at the Mosconi Cup.
Europe topped Team USA with a score of 11-6, marking their fifth consecutive title in Florida.
Jayson Shaw achieved victory against opposing captain Skyler Woodward with a flawless score of 5-0, extending the continent’s lead to five points and kickstarting their night at 10-5.
Fedor Gorst managed to secure a point back, but Francisco Sanchez Ruiz then edged past Woodward 5-4, clinching the win.
Upon sinking the final ball, Ruiz and his team celebrated by dancing on the table to the sound of ‘Freed From Desire’ in front of a disheartened US snooker crowd.
This victory marked a significant accomplishment for Shaw, who won the trophy in his first time as captain.
The Scot expressed: “I just want to thank everyone who came out to support us.
“It has been quite stressful, and required much more effort this year. We prepared thoroughly leading up to this event.
“It was wonderful having them on my team, and I’m looking forward to the next one.”
Team USA captain Woodward acknowledged the skill of his rivals but expressed pride in his own team’s performance.
