SKY SPORTS was compelled to give an on-air apology after a member of Team USA delivered an explicit outburst during the Mosconi Cup.
The Americans squared off against Team Europe today in Orlando, Florida, in yet another exciting matchup.
Jayson Shaw’s continental squad is seeking to clinch a fifth consecutive title following their victory at Alexandra Palace last year.
At present, they are leading with a score of 8-5 in the race to 11 for the esteemed Mosconi trophy, along with a significant cash prize.
Earlier in the day, Team USA caused quite a scare for their European opponents.
A remarkable performance from Billy Thorpe enabled the Americans to level the score at 4-4.
Teammate Tyler Styer became a bit overzealous as he called upon the home crowd for increased support.
However, his foul-mouthed outburst displeased Sky Sports, prompting them to apologize for Styer’s language.
He took the microphone and encouraged the crowd, “I’ll tell you what, you guys have been at about 60 percent this week, OK?
“Every time they break dry, every time they miss a break, every time they miss a ball, every time they hook themselves, I want you to blow the f*****g roof off this place. Let’s go!”

The Sky Sports host managed the situation with composure.
Taking back the mic, she addressed the audience and issued an apology.
Freak incident at Mosconi Cup leaves pool fans puzzled as they ask ‘how has that not gone in?’
She stated, “Apologies for the language there. We are live on Sky Sports, Tyler, remember that!”
Tyer’s teammate Thorpe then chimed in, “Everyone always thinks we’re getting robbed, good luck.
“We have the potential to win the remaining matches, and I believe we’re going to perform really well.
“We’re all enjoying ourselves, and without all the fans, we wouldn’t be here, so thank you, everyone.”
