
Neale Fraser, the renowned Australian tennis icon, has sadly passed away at the age of 91.
Global tributes have begun to pour in for the late Fraser, with a heartfelt message from former rival and fellow Australian great Rod Laver.
Laver shared his condolences on X, stating: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my dear friend and fellow lefty, Neale Fraser.
“He was a true gem during a golden period of Australian tennis – a remarkable World No.1, a Grand Slam champion, and a stalwart of the Davis Cup.”
“Neale defeated me in two major finals, pushing me to improve my game.”
“My deepest sympathies go out to Thea and Neale’s extended family. I will miss you immensely, my friend. Rest in peace.”
