Inside the EFL Club Stadium: How Police-Seized LED Lights From a Cannabis Factory Are Helping Maintain the Pitch

Following a raid on a cannabis grow operation, police have delivered a collection of LED lights, originally intended for illegal activities, to the Crewe Alexandra stadium.

This generous gesture aims to aid in maintaining the pitch for the League Two club, formerly known as Gresty Road.

Last week, police officers from Cheshire made a notable delivery to Crewe’s stadium, as reported by The Mail.

According to HortiDaily., LED grow lights are recognized for their efficiency and eco-friendliness in illuminating playing fields while repurposing heat.

The new, stylish lights are perfectly suited for a club in League Two ambitions aiming for promotion to League One.

The sponsored Mornflake Stadium currently boasts advanced floodlights.

Nevertheless, Crewe gladly accepted the additional equipment that can also be used at their training facility.

Multiple sources have reported numerous successful police operations in Crewe this year, leading to the confiscation of cannabis cultivation equipment worth millions.

It appears that local authorities have run out of available space to store all the seized goods.

Throughout the summer, various items, including compost, flower pots, garden stakes, and fertilizers, were given to local gardening centers.

Authorities also provided cultivation materials, like electric fans, to primary schools.

Additionally, the lighting equipment was shared with a nearby pigeon flying club.

In June 2021, the club secured a £500,000 naming rights deal with its long-term shirt sponsor, Mornflake.

Crewe, with a history dating back to 1906, features a current capacity of 10,100 following a significant reconstruction of all four stands during the 1990s.

After a 1-1 draw against Carlisle on Saturday, Crewe fell to third place in the League Two standings.

The club, under the management of former EFL midfielder Lee Bell, confirmed the LED delivery to SunSport.
