Dominic Solanke of Tottenham was dismissed by manager Ange Postecoglou before today’s match against Fulham.
Solanke, 27, arrived at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this morning feeling unwell.
After observing Solanke, Postecoglou chose to let him rest for the afternoon to recuperate.
Commenting on Solanke’s absence before kickoff, the 58-year-old Australian coach remarked: “He came in today and didn’t appear to be well.
“He was feeling unwell, so we sent him home.
“We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he’ll be available for the next match.”
Solanke had played the full 90 minutes as Tottenham drew 2-2 with Roma in the Europa League last Thursday.
The recent signing has scored four goals in 10 Premier League appearances this season.
Additionally, he has netted two more goals in European competitions.
Postecoglou also missed the long-term injured player Richarlison, with Son Heung-min stepping up as the central forward.
