Boxing sensation Curmel Moton had his scheduled fight against Bryan Mercado called off after he significantly exceeded the weight limit on Friday.
Moton, who is under the guidance of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, weighed in at 15 POUNDS over the limit.
The 18-year-old boasts an undefeated record of 6-0 since his professional debut last September on the Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo undercard, but was unable to extend that streak this weekend.
The young athlete, who is from Utah, was poised to face Mercado at 133 pounds in New Jersey, but instead tipped the scales at an astonishing 148.7 pounds.
This dramatic weight miss drew gasps and shocked reactions during the weigh-in, marking one of the most notable weight misses in boxing history.
Consequently, Moton was withdrawn from the fight card due to the significant weight difference.
Fans took to social media to poke fun at the rising star, suggesting his weight gain could be due to a hearty Thanksgiving dinner.
One commenter quipped: “Damn, bro had one unforgettable Thanksgiving feast.”
Another stated: “He didn’t even try to make weight.”
A third joked: “Bro’s biggest rival was cookies.”

In light of the situation, Moton offered an explanation, noting that he had prior knowledge about his inability to fight due to complications with his bloodwork.
On Instagram, he stated: “I want to sincerely apologize to everyone who planned to come to Jersey to watch me fight.

“I’ve been in talks with the commission regarding my bloodwork clearance, and unfortunately, they misplaced my blood in their system [making it improbable for the fight to be sanctioned].
“I’ve been aware of this for the past three days, so there was no real reason to stress myself to make weight.
“They still required me to weigh in for some reason, and they used that as a basis for canceling the fight.
“Nonetheless, I’ll be returning to Japan on December 30th. I hope to see all of you there.”
