O’Sullivan Draws Parallels Between Wilson and Scheffler
Ronnie O’Sullivan believes that Kyren Wilson has the right “mentality” for sustained success, comparing him to world No. 1 golfer, Scottie Scheffler.
Wilson is preparing to take on Michael Holt in the quarter-finals of the UK Snooker Championships later this evening.
O’Sullivan, who has won the championship at the Crucible seven times, admires how Wilson is handling the pressure following his first world title victory this year.
In an interview with Eurosport, The Rocket stated: “It really varies from person to person; for some, the pressure can be too much and can derail their careers.
“Yet, those who are truly talented and have the right background often step up their game, achieving great success.”
“Kyren undoubtedly fits that description and is on track to win many more significant tournaments.”
O’Sullivan further remarked: “He reminds me of Scottie Scheffler, the golfer.
“While many players can hit the ball far and showcase various skills, Wilson excels across every facet of the game, and when he is in form, he becomes a tough opponent.”
