Tyson Fury Stays Quiet as Oleksandr Usyk Reveals Startling Admission Ahead of Rematch

TYSON FURY kept a calm demeanor as Oleksandr Usyk voiced his dislike for pre-fight traditions.

The two fighters, aged 36 and 37, respectively, confronted one another for the first time since their May bout during a press conference in London last month, which was followed by an in-depth discussion.

During their chat with TNT Sports, Usyk shared that he finds the build-up to fights particularly stressful.

He mentioned to pundit Steve Bunce: “When I step into the ring, it becomes my domain. I believe Tyson shares a similar sentiment.

“When fighters step into the ring, everything changes. Preparation (imitates nausea), training (imitates nausea) – just wait until you see us in action.”

Fury appeared completely unfazed by Usyk’s comments, watching clips from their previous matchup intently displayed on a screen.

The agile southpaw Usyk barely triumphed in a captivating 12-round fight to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in nearly a quarter of a century.

Fury found himself near a knockout in the ninth round of that fight in Riyadh but managed to withstand Usyk’s relentless offense after being knocked down.

Usyk relentlessly pursued a dazed Fury as if he were a bloodhound, though his intent was not to cause damage to the Brit.

Oleksandr Usyk has Tyson Fury sign a photo from their first fight and promises to auction it off for fundraising for Ukrainian soldiers

“That’s why I see no reason to hurt him.”

Falling to Usyk was the first loss of Fury’s professional journey, igniting a fierce resolve in the Wythenshawe warrior, who is adopting a KILL-OR-BE-KILLED mentality for their rematch.

He declared: “I’m prepared to take risks; it will be either me or you… giving it my all and letting go.

“I’ve never backed down from the possibility of being knocked out. Each time I’ve put everything on the line.”

He continued: “There’s no secret! I’m stepping in there with the intention to knock you out.

“Because I’m uncertain I’ll receive a fair decision no matter how I perform.

“I doubt a just boxing judgment will favor me.

“Therefore, I have to take the decision out of the judges’ reach as I did in that bout in the U.S. against Deontay Wilder.”

“And I have to finish him off to secure the win.”
